Waitrose Weekend was launched in 2010 as the first weekly customer newspaper published by a British supermarket. Created to engage shoppers beyond the store environment, the publication combined food, lifestyle, seasonal content and brand storytelling in a format designed to feel useful, accessible and regular.
As part of the John Lewis Partnership, Waitrose needed a publication that could reflect its quality, values and customer relationship while supporting a fast-moving weekly editorial cycle.
Treble supported the project from launch, providing editorial design, art direction, weekly layout delivery and prepress production. The work required a clear and flexible editorial framework that could accommodate recipes, features, promotions and seasonal stories while maintaining consistency across each issue.
The result was a customer-facing publication that helped Waitrose build engagement, strengthen brand presence and deliver useful content with pace and consistency.
